There are several existing access points along the Clinch River for canoes, kayaks and fishing. From the headwaters in Tazewell County to the Tennessee state line, you can spend days or hours exploring the Clinch.
Blackford – From Honaker on Route 80 South (1.4 miles); Left on Route 641 (.03 miles); Coordinates: 36° 59’ 48″ N, 81° 56’ 38″ W
Puckett’s Hole – From Honaker, Route 645 West (2.2); Left on Route 651 (1 miles); Right on Route 652 (2.3 miles); Coordinates: 36° 58’ 12″ N, 82° 0’ 50″ W
Nash’s Ford – From Honaker, Route 645 West (8.3 miles); Left on Route 798 (.2 miles); Coordinates: 36° 58’ 2″ N, 82° 4’ 45″ W
Cleveland – In Cleveland off Route 600, next to baseball field; Coordinates: 36.9409 N, -82.156571 W
Carterton – From Castlewood, Route 615 North (1.9 miles); Right on Route 628 (3.3 miles); Right on Route 614 (1 miles); Coordinates: 36° 54’ 55″ N, 82° 13’ 17″ W
St. Paul – Located in St Paul at Matthews Park; Coordinates: 36° 54’ 11″ N, 82° 18’ 27″ W
Burton’s Ford – From Castlewood/St. Paul, West on Route 65, Right onto S. Burton’s Ford Rd., drive until you cross the railroad tracks
Miller Yard – From Dungannon, take Route 72 East, Right on Route 608, cross over railroad tracks; Coordinates: 36° 54’ 55″ N, 82° 13’ 17″ W
Dungannon – Route 65 at Ruritan Park in Dungannon, next to the bridge; Coordinates: 36° 49’ 52″ N, 82° 27’ 44″ W
Route 659 – River Bluff Road runs directly along the south side of the Clinch. Paddlers can take out their boats at several points on private property but check with the owners first.
Fort Blackmore – From Fort Blackmore, South on Route 72, Left on Old 72, pull off before bridge; Coordinates: 36° 54’ 55″ N, 82° 13’ 17″ W
Slant – From Fort Blackmore, South on Route 65, Left onto Route 662, access points on both sides of the hanging bridge.
Hill Station – From Ft. Blackmore, South on Route 65, Left onto Route 645, cross bridge, turn left.
Clinchport – From Clinchport take Route 65 North (2.3 miles); landing on the right; Coordinates: 36° 40’ 33″ N, 82° 44’ 33″ W
Speer’s Ferry – From Clinchport, South on SR 58/23, cross bridge, Left onto Route 627, at convergence of Copper Creek and Clinch.
State Line – From Clinchport, SR 58 East (1.6 miles); Right onto Route 625, 9 miles on left; Coordinates: 36° 35’ 57″ N, 82° 52’ 49″ W
